How enquiry and project information is handled.
This notice explains website collection, project communication, geospatial-data considerations and rights under South African privacy law.

Revision date: 11 August 2026
1. Responsible party
LandSight is responsible for personal information submitted through this website and project enquiries. Privacy requests may be submitted through the contact form with “Privacy request” as the first line. In-person correspondence can be arranged by appointment at Workshop17 Ballito, 7th & 8th Floor, Ballito Junction Regional Mall, Leonora Drive, Ballito, Dolphin Coast, KwaZulu-Natal, 4399.
2. Website information collected
The project form collects contact name, email address, optional telephone number, site location, requested service, project stage and the message provided. The server stores a one-way hash of the submitting IP address for spam control, not the plain IP address in the enquiry record.
3. Project and spatial information
If work proceeds, project records may include correspondence, site contacts, access instructions, property references, coordinates, drawings, imagery and supplied datasets. Some spatial information can reveal private locations, building layouts or patterns of activity and is handled according to the agreed project protocol.
4. Why information is used
- To assess and respond to a project enquiry;
- to arrange meetings, site access and proposals;
- to deliver an accepted scope and maintain issue records;
- to coordinate authorised specialists where agreed;
- to meet legal duties, protect systems and resolve disputes.
5. Sharing and operators
Personal information is not sold. Relevant information may be shared with hosting providers or with a registered surveyor, authorised aerial operator, consultant or subcontractor necessary for an agreed scope. Only the information needed for that role is disclosed, subject to appropriate confidentiality and data arrangements.
6. Retention and security
Website enquiries are retained for up to 24 months. Project, professional, contractual and financial records may be retained longer where required by the service, professional standards, limitation periods or South African law. Access controls, backups and agreed transfer methods are used proportionately, but no digital system is risk-free.
7. Your POPIA rights
You may request access or correction, object to certain processing, withdraw consent where applicable, or request deletion when retention is no longer justified. We may need to verify identity and authority relating to a project record.
8. Information Regulator
Concerns should first be raised with LandSight. You may also contact South Africa’s Information Regulator: Woodmead North Office Park, 54 Maxwell Drive, Woodmead, Johannesburg, 2191; enquiries@inforegulator.org.za; +27 10 023 5200; toll-free 0800 017 160.
